We just completed week six of the Legislature! Tuesday was the last day to introduce bills in the House and this Monday, February 21, will be the last day to do so in the Senate. We have compiled a list of bills we are watching, both good and bad, and will continue to update this list as we go. Hi, everyone! We have concluded week 5 at the legislature, and are now past the half-way mark. Next week is the last week that bills can be introduced in the House and Senate. We are keeping a close eye on about 45 bills, many of which have not even made it to committee agendas, which is both good and bad. We saw two very bad bills pass the House this week, but one good bill, SB 404, made it through both chambers and is set to hit the Governor’s desk. More

What a beautiful day for some civic action! Thursday, was our 30th annual E-Day at the Capital. Amongst citizens who came to advocate for clean air, clean energy, and clean water; there were multiple organizations that showed up in force! Organizations present were not limited to: WV Highlands Conservancy, WV Rivers, Kanawha Forest Coalition, Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition, Citizens Climate Lobby, Energy Efficient WV, Friends of Blackwater, WV Chapter Sierra Club, WV Citizen Action Group, and the E-Council. More

During week two of the West Virginia Legislature, we faced the House Judiciary Committee where HB 2506, a bill that would further endanger our already fragile drinking water supply, was railroaded through.
