  1. This is another affront to public discussion and releasing data what happens in counties , towns, or cities where these have been built and run. We. The.People
. Do not need this .

    1. This proposal mocks our state motto, “Mountaineers are always free.” Why would anybody say local people should not be able to find out what a major industrial proposal entails and object if needed?

  2. Data Centers are the OPPOSITE of Wild & Wondeful.

  3. Can’t imagine Monroe Co. having one. The New River has been low enough to walk across many times lately. Where is the water to run this coming from?

  4. It’s damn annoying how everyone who’s for this are just plain steamrolling us! They don’t give a single ounce of a damn about how bad this could be on many, different levels! Higher electric bills? Pollution? Excessive carbon emissions? All for the latest tech that could end up being yet another scam?!

    Just stop already!

  5. An article was just published about the long term effects of data centers on health in Oregon. Many young people are getting caner at high rates and miscarriages are becoming more common. West Virginia does not need this!

  6. What is the bond requirement? A simple construction bond will not cover the disposal cost for heavy metal laiden material. When this bubble bursts, are we going to have to foot the bill?

  7. 35% of property tax stay in the county. Is it worth it. No

  8. we the people

  9. NO to Data Centers

  10. It’s ridiculous how they are pushing data centers that will poison our lands, people and bring very few permanent jobs. It’s just another extractive industry just like coal.

  11. We don’t want it!!! We have to stand up to these shadowy corporations. Keep West Virginia wild and wonderful!

  12. It makes absolutely no sense to put a data center smack dab in the middle of one of the most beautiful and unspoiled areas in WV. The manner in which this has been allowed to proceed is dictatorial– no input was received by locals and there is no recourse for this being shoved down everyone’s throats. It is shameful in so many ways and should be stopped. We have other sites that would be more appropriate for a data center– for example at one of the abandoned industrial sites in the Kanawha Valley or an old strip mine site.

  13. If tourism is important to the state if West Virginia, do not destroy one of the most beautiful areas in the state with a power plant that will pollute the air and water in Tucker county.
