Hi {contact.email_greeting},
These protections were enacted after the 2014 Freedom Industries event contaminated the drinking water supply of more than 300,000 West Virginians. The Freedom Industries tank leaked nearly 8,000 gallons of crude 4-Methylcyclohexanemethanol (MCHM) into the Elk River, causing serious health and economic consequences for Kanawha County. Weakening these standards risks harming present and future generations’ access to clean water in the Mountain State. Take action before it’s too late — use the West Virginia Rivers Coalition action alert to demand lawmakers reject Com Sub SB 641. |
