In Case You Missed It: Don’t miss two book events this week featuring Justin Nobel and his groundbreaking book, “Petroleum-238: Big Oil’s Dangerous Secret and the Grassroots Fight to Stop It.”

  • Tuesday, May 14 at 6 pm: Argo Books in Buckhannon, WV, with musician Pierson Keating. Hosted by WV Rivers Coalition and Buckhannon River Watershed Association
  • Wednesday, May 15 at 6 pm: Ohio County Library in Wheeling, WV, with musician Pierson Keating. Hosted by Concerned Ohio River Residents

Petroleum-238” shares Nobel’s seven-year investigation into the oil and gas industry’s toxic and radioactive waste, which has been spilled, spread, injected, and dumped across America, shielded by lax regulations and legal loopholes.

The book is dedicated to several West Virginians, including Bill Hughes (West Virginia Oilfield chronicler and educator), Mirijana Beram (West Virginia warrior and protector), and April Pierson-Keating (West Virginia land protector & grassroots activism visionary, co-founder of POWHR Coalition). April’s son, Pierson Keating, will perform at both events.

We hope you can join the book events to learn more about this urgent environmental and public health crisis.
