During the night and early morning of December 2 and 3, 1984, more than 40 tons of methyl isocyanate gas (MIC) leaked from a pesticide plant in Bhopal, immediately killing at least 3,800 and causing premature death of many thousands more. It is the worst industrial chemical disaster in history. It is hard to believe that this year, 2024, marks the 40th anniversary of the Bhopal disaster. The sister chemical plant of the India facility was located in Institute WV. The Institute plant continued production and storage of MIC for another 28 years, until it was decommissioned in 2012. Please join in us in this moment of solidarity, support, and reflection. |

I’m concerned about the water, the road infrastructure, and the spraying of chemicals along roadsides and water ways… These are detrimental to the environment, and the roads are getting more and more treacherous, on higher and higher ridges. There are ditches and cliffs and unstable ground on either sides of the road. The water is running faster and faster creating problems. The roads are like water slides, where the water is out of control…and it is…
