Industry Advocate Bill Pulled
SB 410- a bill to create the position of Industry Advocate at the Department of Environmental Protection appeared on the Senate Energy, Industry, and Mining committee agenda on Thursday.
We were prepared to have questions asked in committee about the need for this particular role, especially since there is already an ombudsman at DEP tasked with helping small businesses navigate permits, etc.
Luckily, the bill was pulled by Chairman Randy Smith at the last minute. We will keep our eyes out for its reappearance but don’t think we’ll be seeing it again.
