The 2026 legislative session concludes by midnight on Saturday, March 14. Our lobby team is working on the ground through the final days, closely monitoring last-minute bills, floor debates, and legislative messages as measures move through the House and Senate.
We will provide a full legislative wrap-up article next week. For now, here are a few of the final items we are following closely:
- HB 4983, the data center rule, passed the Senate following a committee amendment that adds “water access” to the definition of “inordinate burden”. The House has concurred with the changes.
- SB 641, The Aboveground Storage Tank Bill, was amended in committee this week and passed the House in amended form to address ASTs of 10,000 gallons or less containing only brine; we are now waiting for the Senate to concur with those changes.
- The Governor has also released his vetoes in the budget, but the $5 million in funding (initially proposed at $25 million) remains in place for the Flood Resiliency Trust Fund.
Stay tuned for a more in-depth summary by our lobby team next week!
