We Couldn’t Do It Without You

What a legislative session it’s been! We are so proud of the hard work accomplished by our lobby team, Karan and Kayla, over the past 60 days. They tracked over 300 pieces of legislation, attended countless committee meetings, worked with our membership groups and coalition partners to strategize and advocate for pro-environmental legislation, put together urgent calls to action, and wrote and sent out a newsletter each week. Our lobby team once again managed such impressive victories despite the well-funded opposition it faces, and a daunting political climate.

As you read over this wrap up issue of the GREEN for a summary of their accomplishments, please know that none of it would have been possible without your support. Whether you made a call, sent an email, provided financial support, or came down for E-Day or another day to citizen lobby, it all makes a difference.

I’d also like to thank our membership groups who, along with your support, provided the funds to support our lobby team and pay them a living wage for the hard work they do, as well as guidance on complex issues and legislative strategy. Huge thanks to Cheat Lake Environmental and Recreation Association (CLEAR), Friends of the Cheat, Greenbrier River Watershed Association, League of Women Voters of West Virginia, Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition, Plateau Action Network, WV Citizen Action Education Fund, WV Rivers Coalition, WV Highlands Conservancy, WV Sierra Club, and WV Solar United Neighbors.
