Contact Legislators NOW to Keep Streams Clean

The Senate Natural Resources Committee will possibly take action on the two major DEP water rules next week.  Now’s the time to contact the members of this committee (as well as ALL of your legislators) and ask them to pass both of these important rules.

The message is simple: tell them you strongly support keeping all 309 streams on the Tier 2.5 stream list as proposed in 60CSR5, the Antidegradation Implementation Procedures Rule, as well as the expanded list of trout streams (called the “B2” list) contained in 47CSR2, the Water Quality Standards Rule. Ask them to pass both of these rules as proposed by the Joint Legislative Rule-Making Review Committee, with no amendments.
