Support Bottle Bill - HB 2773 Please take a moment today and call these key delegates on the House Judiciary Committee to ask for their support on the WV Bottle Bill. Delegate Bill Proudfoot (D-Randolph), 304-340-3248 (Vice Chair) Delegate Alex Shook (D-Monongalia), 304-340-3173 Delegate John Ellem (R-Wood), 304-340-3394 (Minority Chair) Delegate Melvin Kessler (D-Raleigh), 304-340-3163 Delegate John Pino (D-Fayette), 304-340-3170 Delegate Patrick Lane (R-Kanawha), 304-340-3275 You can also call toll-free at 1-877-565-3447. Please ask these delegates to support the WV Bottle Bill. Tell them that it will drastically reduce not only beverage container litter but overall litter, and that beverage containers make up much more litter than the 8% figure they are being told by the opposition. Remind them that the deposit placed on these containers is not a tax but a fully refundable deposit and the only people who would be "taxed" are those who throw their containers away. Let them know that you want a cleaner West Virginia and if we become a bottle bill state we will create hundreds of new recycling jobs across our state, paid for by the unredeemed deposits. If you have any questions, please let me know (linda@wvcag.org) and THANKS!!!!
