The annual “Tank Bill” is moving, and it’s dangerous. SB 592—set for a hearing today, April 7, at 3 pm in the House Energy Committee—would remove nearly 1,000 oil, gas, and coal tanks from the inspection list mandated by the Aboveground Storage Tank Act. This includes tanks like the one that caused the 2014 Elk River chemical spill, which contaminated the drinking water of over 300,000 people. Read a SB 592 fact sheet here. We need your voice—right now—to help stop this bill:
Let’s not repeat history. Tell lawmakers: Our drinking water must be protected. No on SB 592. Thank you for taking action—your voice matters! |
