West Virginia lawmakers are rushing forward with HB 2014 — a bill that would open the floodgates to data center development across our state while silencing local voices and putting ratepayers at risk. Call and flood their phones. Tell your House Delegates to protect local voices, not silence them. Let them know we’re watching! Find your delegate here. Then email all House Delegates here. HB2014 allows data centers — industrial facilities that consume enormous amounts of energy and water — to be built anywhere in West Virginia without your town or county having any say. These centers could create constant noise and light pollution, and there would be nothing you or your community could do to stop it. All while you pay the price — literally.
This bill is moving fast — take action NOW to help us protect West Virginia ratepayers. Call your delegate — phone calls are one of the most powerful ways to get their attention. Find their info here. Then send an email to lawmakers now. Miss our latest newsletter? You can catch up on all the bills we’re watching and get our latest updates here. Thank you for standing with us! |

Thanks for the alert about HB2014 regarding data centers and the list of delegates by district. However, this alert assumes that recipients know what House district they live in so that they can contact the correct delegate. After all the redistricting, I am not sure of my current district. After an hour spent online combing through outdated (2020, 2021) information, inaccessible websites, and obscure data file types (“simple ways to open SHP files in 9 steps!”), I still have not found the answer. Sending us an updated House district map dated 2025 would go a long way to facilitate this in addition to the list of delegates.
WVEC’s website has a resource page to help identify your legislator: Find Your WV State Legislators. If you don’t know your district there are two links at the top of the page to find your delegates from your address and/or location.
