Everyone deserves clean water. Take action and help spread the word! Wyoming and McDowell Counties in West Virginia are facing a severe water crisis, with residents in Wolf Pen/Indian Creek and communities like Gary, Leckie, and Anawalt experiencing significant water quality issues. Since May 2024, over 2,060 cases of water have been distributed to more than 280 homes. Residents are relying heavily on bottled water, costing some families over $100 per month. Urgent action is needed to address this crisis. The WV Rivers Coalition, WV Faith Collective, and From Below are calling on citizens to contact Governor Jim Justice and state representatives to declare a State of Emergency and support funding for clean water infrastructure. They aim to gather 1,000 people to take action and raise awareness about this critical issue affecting one of America’s poorest counties. |
