In West Virginia and around the world, global warming and the climate crisis are driving a rapid transition to low-carbon-emission energy sources. How can we secure a fair energy transition that provides effective climate solutions?
You can learn more about (and help answer) this important question at a Summer 2021 series of free, expert-led, interactive webinars on the topic: “Putting Together the Pieces of a Fair Energy Transition – Leaving No One Behind.” Three hour-long webinars, each with different expert speakers and panelists, are scheduled for 7:00-8:00 PM USET on Tuesday, June 15; Tuesday, July 13; and Tuesday, August 10.
The featured speaker on Tuesday, June 15: Robert Pollin, PhD, Distinguished University Professor of Economics at the University of Massachusetts – Amherst, and Co-Director of the Political Economy Research Institute. Dr. Pollin is the lead author of the recent report, “Impacts of the Reimagine Appalachia & Clean Energy Transition Programs for West Virginia.”
Moderator – Michael Jones, Vice-Chair, WV Center on Climate Change. Panelists – Jeff Young, Managing Editor, Ohio Valley Resource; Ted Boettner, Senior Researcher, Ohio River Valley Institute.
