What It Does:
Bottom line: HB 2014 benefits big corporations and the fossil fuel industry—at the expense of West Virginia communities and ratepayers. The committee meets TODAY, April 8, at 1 pm, call committee members and email them now! There are currently three permit applications for off-grid natural gas power plants that cannot legally operate unless HB 2014 passes. One of these proposed sites is just two miles outside of Davis, West Virginia—a key area in the state’s tourism economy. The other two applications come from Adam Victor of TransGas, the same person behind the controversial proposal to build the world’s largest ammonia plant above Gilbert Creek in Mingo County. |
