By Sandra Fallon, WVEC President
When it comes to making West Virginia cities greener and more sustainable, Green Teams in Morgantown and Charleston are helping lead the way in their towns. These teams of local citizens advise the Mayor, City Council, and City Manager on a wide range of policies and strategies, including energy efficiency, renewable energy, sustainable transportation, recycling, green space preservation, citizen education, and other environmental initiatives.
Check out these People’s Climate Solutions podcasts to hear firsthand how the Green Teams operate, how they came together, and the benefits they’re bringing to their communities. The Green Team members featured—Quenton King, Linda Frame, and Jim Kotcon—are also WVEC board members and advisors, all doing inspiring work in their communities!
