WV New Jobs Coalition, WV Citizen Action Group and SEUI are hosting the Democracy, Jobs and CARE-a-van Summer Jam: For the People concert series! The next event is Friday, July 2 in Beckley from 5-8 p.m. Join to celebrate together and take action for DEMOCRACY, JOBS and CARE! FREE FOOD, MUSIC and Family FUN! Sign up here. Our partners at WV Rivers Coalition have a few things happening this summer, as well. They recently launched their Stream Watch app with Trout Unlimited and provided a free training on how to use the app to document water pollution or habitat degradation. WV Rivers is also having their Tucker County Rivers Celebration on July 17, which will be full of free, family friendly activities on the river and off the river. There will be a ticketed event at 6:30 p.m. with live music, catered dinner and libations from local brewers. RSVP here! WV Center on Climate Change is hosting a Summer “Fair Transition” Webinar Series. The next webinar is on July 13 at 7 p.m. via Zoom. Chris Hanson, PhD, Director at the Colorado Energy & Water Institute and Colorado State Senator, will be discussing the “Colorado Just Transition Action Plan” that assists fossil fuel communities in the transition to a clean energy economy. Two of our own environmental advocates, Angie Rosser, Executive Director of WV Rivers and Evan Hansen, President of Downstream Strategies and Delegate, along with Ann Eisenberg, Assistant Professor from the University of South Carolina School of Law, will be the featured panelists. Register here. Save the Date events: WV Citizen Action group is hosting their annual meeting on August 26 at the Riverview Shelter in Coonskin Park.
