WVEC is passing on this urgent alert from WV Rivers: The West Virginia Senate Natural Resources Committee will be discussing SB270 – the bill to allow commercial logging in West Virginia’s State Parks today at 1:00PM in Room 208-W. Let committee members know that West Virginians oppose commercial logging in our state parks before 1:00PM! Send a letter to committee members; let them know that commercial logging is bad for our state parks and bad for West Virginia. If you are in Charleston, join us at the Capitol Building! Today is Tourism Day at the Legislature and West Virginians for Public Lands will have a display and information available. Your presence shares the message that the public wants to keep commercial logging out of our state parks! You can find West Virginians for Public Lands in the rotunda of the Capitol building – look for the yellow West Virginians for Public Lands banner.
