During our 2024 Annual Meeting, participants voted on WVEC’s priorities for the 2025 legislative session.
The WVEC’s Annual Meeting will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 10 am to 5 pm at the Cedar Lakes Conference Center in Ripley, West Virginia. The WVEC Board Meeting will follow on Sunday, September 21, from 10 am to noon.
Attendees are welcome to arrive Friday night, Sept. 19, or Saturday morning, attend the all-day meeting on Saturday, enjoy the Saturday night campfire, and then stay for the WVEC Board meeting on Sunday morning.
The Annual Meeting is open to everyone. It’s our yearly in-person gathering to learn about and discuss our positions on environmental issues we anticipate the WV state legislature will address in the 2026 session. We’ll hear from experts, advocates, students and WVEC members, decide on our positions and identify our legislative priorities. We can then go to the legislature with a unified voice representing West Virginians’ interests across the state.
We’ve set aside a block of hotel rooms for anyone who wants to reserve one. Dorm rooms are also available. Cedar Lakes offers a variety of hiking trails, sports, and recreational activities.
Watch for more information in the coming weeks.

Participants listen in during WVEC’s Annual Meeting at Tygart Lake State Park in 2024, where members gathered to shape WVEC’s legislative priorities for 2025. The 2025 meeting will be held at Cedar Lakes.
