On January 27 at 2 pm, join us at the WV State Capitol to support solar. Let’s rally together to show the WV Public Service Commission (and legislators!) that West Virginians won’t let their energy rights be taken away. Eastern Panhandle Green Coalition (EPGC) Movie Night, Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 6 pm: Please join the EPGC at the Shepherdstown Community Club to watch Dark Waters, a true story about how the chemical company Dupont knowingly poisoned 70,000 residents in Parkersburg, WV for years. The star-studded movie is the gripping story of how the truth was learned and exposed. An open community discussion about water issues in our community will follow the film. Snacks will be provided, or bring your own to share.
Lobby Training for West Virginians, Thursday, Feb. 1 at 7 pm: Learn how to advocate for solar in West Virginia. Solar United Neighbors (SUN) is holding a virtual lobbying training that’s specific to solar energy issues in West Virginia. Mountain Valley Watch + WV Rivers’ Volunteer Appreciation Day, Saturday, Feb. 3 at 1 pm: Join the West Virginia Rivers Coalition for a day of appreciation for their extraordinary volunteers from 1-5 pm at The Graham House in Pence Springs, WV. This event is open to everyone – Mountain Valley Watch, West Virginia Rivers Coalition, Protect Our Water Heritage Rights volunteers, admirers of those volunteers, and people interested in volunteering to keep our waters safe. Black Policy Day at the State Capitol, Wednesday, Feb. 7: The Black Voter Impact Initiative and friends invite you to Black Policy Day at the State Capitol! Black Policy Day provides a platform for historically oppressed and ignored Black individuals to have their voices heard.
