Since our last newsletter, even more evidence has come in that your calls and e-mails affect legislators’ votes.
On Friday, January 29, the House Judiciary Committee voted to advance the “right to work” bill. In his Gazette account of the proceedings, David Gutman wrote, “Delegate Roger Hanshaw, R-Clay, was the sole legislator to cross party lines, voting with Democrats against the bill.
“‘I did what the constituents of my district asked me to do,’ Hanshaw said, noting that calls and emails he received were strongly opposed to right-to-work.”
So keep those calls and e-mails coming!
