Sandra Fallon, WVEC President
Sandra is thrilled to work with WVEC’s talented and inspiring board and staff members, along with members and supporters across the state dedicated to protecting our air, land and water. Sandra brings a background in adult education, media production, community activism and advocacy to her role with WVEC. She lives in Morgantown and spent many years working for West Virginia University and volunteering with WV organizations, developing education and public outreach programs on water, climate change, energy and equity issues. Sandra has taught climate communications to teachers with the WV Climate Change Professional Development Program, co-founded WV Climate Action, and is a WV Climate Alliance member, former Citizens’ Climate Lobby WV state co-chair and former WV Environmental Education Association board member. She’s produced a couple of video documentaries along the way, is an enthusiastic photographer and loves to read, travel, hike and kayak. She has one son, an environmental scientist by day and alt-rocker by night with his Boston-based band, Rain House.
Quenton King, WVEC Vice President
Quenton, a native of West Virginia’s eastern panhandle, currently serves as a Federal Legislative Specialist at Appalachian Voices. He earned his bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University and his Master of Public Health from Columbia University. Quenton returned to West Virginia to work in criminal justice reform at the West Virginia Center on Budget and Policy, where he helped lead a bipartisan statewide coalition of criminal justice practitioners and advocates. He also chairs the Charleston Green Team and has collaborated with the WV ACLU. In his spare time, Quenton enjoys unwinding on the basketball court.
Chrissy Sandy, Organizational Board Member
Chrissy is a single mom of two, living in Adrian, West Virginia, in a home built in 1850 that she is currently remodeling using as many repurposed and recycled items as possible. She is a board member of the Buckhannon River Watershed Association and is passionate about environmental justice, sustainability, and environmental legislation in WV. Chrissy is representing the WV Chapter of Sierra Club as a board member of WVEC.
Mike Jones, Organizational Board Member
Mike serves as the Public Lands Campaign Coordinator for West Virginia Rivers Coalition, responsible for public lands advocacy, developing a federal campaign for permanent safeguards for Mon Forest headwaters, and convening West Virginians for Public Lands. Mike’s duties include working with WVEC and other groups on federal and state legislative initiatives to protect public lands. Mike lives in Morgantown with his wife and cat. When not enjoying local coffee shops, he enjoys the Mon River/Decker’s Creek Trail and exploring WV’s Wild and Wonderful public lands.
Francie Price, At-Large Board Member
Francie, a WVU graduate and Charleston native, is an artist who creates landscape paintings that highlight environmental issues. She works as a bartender at Barkadas, and in her free time, she enjoys hiking in Kanawha State Forest with her dogs and visiting local breweries in Charleston. Francie hopes to raise awareness about protecting the environment for future generations through her art and conversations.
