Environmental Day (E-Day) at the WV State Capitol was a huge success! We were joined by over 35 nonprofits—all fighting for a healthier, more just West Virginia—alongside eight incredible high school and college student groups who brought energy, ideas, and inspiration. Students are involved in projects to protect our air and water, address flooding threats, tackle climate change, clean up litter, grow produce to meet local needs, contribute to local food sustainability, and more. Seeing so many young people stepping up reminds us that the next generation is ready to lead, and they’re already making an impact.

WV Citizen Action Group also hosted a powerful People’s Public Hearing—if the WV House of Delegates won’t hold one to hear what their constituents think, we will. Community members came together to speak out in unison about protecting our drinking water sources from potential contamination by maintaining the current Above Ground Storage Tank requirements, and it made headlines. Read more below and check out the media coverage here.

Then, on March 20, West Virginians for Energy Freedom returned to the State Capitol steps for a spirited Rally for Fair Rates, demanding a just transition and affordable energy for all. Read about the rally here.

And don’t miss our Legislative Update from our lobbyists, who have been working hard to keep us informed and ensure your voices are heard inside the Capitol.

Thank you for being part of this movement. Every voice matters. Please consider donating to support our lobby team or updating your membership today!
