The clock is ticking on the West Virginia legislative session, and decisions made at the State Capitol will shape West Virginia’s future. Our lobby team is tracking key legislation and sharing updates in our weekly update.

Environmental Day (E-Day) is coming up on March 17! E-Day is your chance to connect with legislators, rally for environmental policies, and join forces with fellow advocates. Want to represent your organization? Be sure to reserve your table by the end of the day on Monday, March 10 — space is limited!

The time to act is now—don’t wait until decisions are made without your input. Public input matters—over 6,000 messages from our member groups and West Virginians from across the state led to a committee adding protections for state parks against surface disturbances from carbon storage. Find your legislators and let them know where you stand today.

Thank you for being part of this movement. Every voice matters. Please consider donating to support our lobby team or updating your membership today!

As we close out the third full week of the 2025 Legislative Session, we reflect on a hectic week filled with legislative developments and small victories (small victories are big victories this year)! We focused on water quality standards, protecting state parks, above-ground storage tanks, and more.

Change happens when we show up! For 35 years, Environmental Day (E-Day) has united advocates to demand stronger environmental protections for West Virginians. Attending isn't just about networking or displays—it's about showing up, being seen, and holding legislators accountable for their decisions about our environment, health, and future.

Join the Rally, Sign the Petition—Fight AEP’s Rate Hike!
WV Citizen Action Group
Our electricity bills have more than doubled between 2002 to 2022. Now, AEP wants to raise them again! They made costly mistakes and want us to pay for them. West Virginians for Energy Freedom (WV4EF) invites you to tell Appalachian Power that we can't take more rate hikes.
