Happy November!

Midterm elections are right around the corner on November 8th! Early voting is open until November 5th. Visit www.govotewv.com to find your early voting location, confirm your Election Day polling place and answer any of your voting questions! 

Also around the corner is the 2023 Regular Legislative Session which begins on January 11. Our 2023 legislative priorities focus on energy issues, clean water, public lands, and free and fair elections. Read on for a full list of our legislative priorities (or read them here). Our weekly GREEN legislative update will hit your inbox starting January 13! 

Most of our annual budget goes to funding our lobby team. Please consider a donation to help us lobby for clean air and water in 2023!

2023 Lobby Team Job Openings

The West Virginia Environmental Council (WVEC) is hiring its 2023 lobby team to provide contracted services between January 11, 2023 – March 11, 2023. Team roles will include a communications coordinator and up to two lobbyists.

Join Our Energy Campaign – We Need You!

The West Virginia Environmental Council and the West Virginia Sierra Club energy campaign focuses on developing grassroots support for legislation that addresses the issues of unplugged wells, underbonding of reclamation sites, and the pending bankruptcy of the Special Reclamation Fund.

2022 Environmental Summit a Success! Work Continues on November 21

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the 2022 Environmental Summit a success! Over 70 people attended the Summit September 24 and 25 at the WVU Natural Resource Center in Morgantown.
