Happy New Year!

The 2022 legislative session kicked off Wednesday and is off to a dizzying start! This year the WVEC will be represented by Hannah King and Lucia Valentine. We are so excited to have them work on our legislative priorities and speak out for our members like you. Please read on for more about what we will be watching for this year.

We hope that you can help support our 2022 lobby team with a donation or by renewing your membership. Most of our budget is spent during this wild 60-day time period. Please consider donating at our website or by sending a check to: WVEC, PO Box 1007, Charleston, WV 25324.

Coming right up is our annual E-Day event at the Capitol on Thursday, January 20. This event will be in person with environmental groups from across the state gathering in the Upper Rotunda Senate Side. Our noon-time rally will be broadcast live on Facebook in case you’d like to join us virtually. Otherwise come up to the Capitol, if you can!

Read about E-Day and much more in today’s newsletter. We look forward to bringing you the news of the session for the next 60 days. If you have questions or comments, please reach out to us at info@wvecouncil.org. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for news throughout the week.

To listen in on what’s happening at the Capitol during House and Senate floor sessions, committee meetings, and public hearings, go to the WV Legislature’s website. You can also download a membership directory to learn more about your representatives and their committees.

If you plan to come to the Capitol for E-Day or any other event, please mask up and be fully vaccinated. Please stay safe.

Thank you for your support!

WVEC President
