In spite of memorable snowstorms and communications snafus, the 27th annual E-Day at the capitol was a success. Ten organizations from around the state participated and made a colorful display in the upper rotunda. They included: WV Highlands Conservancy, WV Rivers, Kanawha Forest Coalition, Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition, Citizens Climate Lobby, Energy Efficient WV, Friends of Blackwater, WV Chapter Sierra Club, WV Citizen Action Group, and the ECouncil. Literature was shared, conversations held and I just know people walked away with a new appreciation about the positive impact if only the Legislature would accept our priorities as public policy.
It was also Broadband Day and the local food folks were at the capitol as well. I thought it was a good mix of issues and energies because all three events are about a better quality of life for West Virginians.
