Leah Barbor, WV Program Director for Solar United Neighbors (SUN)
On Saturday, Jan. 27, more than 130 West Virginians came out for the Save Our Solar Rally. That’s an impressive turnout, and a strong message to decision makers. Mountaineers aren’t willing to let monopoly utility companies threaten our access to solar energy.
Folks at the rally heard from speakers including a union representative, a solar installer, and two solar owners. These voices showcased the wide range of people who care about solar.
Rally participants also took action by writing postcards, submitting comments, and meeting with legislators.
For those of you who were there on Saturday, THANK YOU! And for all solar supporters across the state, we hope you’ll stay engaged in the fight to protect solar.
If you haven’t already, please submit comments to the Public Service Commission in support of fair net metering. Also, contact your legislators in support of HB 4834 (Community Solar bill) introduced by Delegate Hansen.
