From our partners at West Virginia Rivers Coalition The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking citizens’ feedback, suggestions, and input on the initial rollout of their draft Public Engagement Guidelines. We have a chance to shape how the DEP interacts with the public, ensuring that our community input and well-being, current and future, is at the forefront of their mission. The deadline to comment is tomorrow, October 11, at 5 pm, and WV Rivers has made it easy for you to review the guidelines and send in your feedback. WV Rivers’ letter urges the DEP to envision a relationship with the public where trust is paramount, and the DEP is recognized as an essential partner in our community’s growth and vitality. By offering your insights on these guidelines, you play a crucial role in determining the level of public engagement, identifying the most effective communication channels, and assisting DEP in reaching underserved communities. Please take a moment to review the guidelines and share your thoughts and recommendations with the WVDEP here. We also encourage you to sign up for the DEP’s email list to stay informed on public meetings. Thank you for your time today and your commitment to effective public engagement. |
