2021 Legislative Session Just Around the Corner

Happy New Year, everyone! We are glad to finally put 2020 in the past and hopefully the new administration will strengthen federal environmental protections & continue to put forth progressive and sustainable changes.

As most of you are aware, the 2021 legislative session is just around the corner and we have our work cut out for us. Starting February 10^th, I will be closely *but virtually* watching and acting upon all of the relevant environmental bills that run through our legislature. Our legislative priorities for this session surround clean water, clean air and clean elections. Please see Linda’s introduction for more and we will send more details in future issues of GREEN.

We will be sending out a weekly legislative update and action alerts as they become relevant. Since we cannot physically be in the Capitol building this session, it will be extremely important to keep a close eye on legislation and to reach out to legislators and voice your opinions. If you or your organization are able to contribute to our efforts with fact sheets, relevant literature, outreach or with a donation, we would greatly appreciate it! As always, this will definitely be a team effort and we need all hands on deck.

Some other important things:

Wvlegislature.gov is the main resource for tracking bills, listening to both Chamber’s daily sessions and committee meetings, as well as finding lawmakers’ contact information.
