Please join us Monday Dec. 7th at 2pm at the West Virginia Dept. of Environmental Protection headquarters in Charleston, WV for a rally and protest to save Coal River Mountain.

Blasting is currently ripping apart Coal River Mountain, one of the last intact mountains in the Coal River Valley in West Virginia. Massey Energy is detonating these enormous blasts just hundreds of yards away from the Brushy Fork sludge impoundment. The impoundment is holding back approximately 9 billion gallons of toxic coal sludge, if the dam fails 1,000 people who live, work and go to school below the dam could lose their lives. For more background information on Coal River Mountain see http://ilovemountains.org/coalriver/background/.

Please join us on Dec. 7 at 2pm at the West Virginia Dept. of Environmental Protection headquarters in Charleston, WV for a rally and protest to save Coal River Mountain. Robert Kennedy Jr. son of the late Senator Robert Kennedy will be present at the rally to stand with concerned citizens demanding a halt to the destruction of Coal River Mountain.
