PROTECT WEST VIRGINIA’S STREAMS!

THE HOUSE will be voting tomorrow (TUESDAY – February 27th) on the two water rules – The Tier 2.5 stream list and the Water Quality Standards Rules that contain the B2 Trout stream list.

They will be voting on both Tuesday during one of the floor sessions – either 11:00 am or 5:00 pm:

HB 2601 - The DEP Rule bundle that contains the two water rules:  1) The Water Quality Standards Package that contains the B2 trout stream list and 2) The Tier 2.5 rule that contains the stream list.

The Federal Clean Water Act provides that states must protect their cleanest and most outstanding streams from degradation by pollution!  The polluters are opposed to even protecting 4% of our state’s streams.  Industry wants to cut both lists!

Help us protect West Virginia’s pristine waters!  Please come to the capitol Tuesday if you can.  Visit your delegates and let them know you want them to support these rules as originally proposed by DEP.  We support NO COMPRIMISE!  The WVEC lobby team will be on hand to help you – and have handouts about these rules.

If you cannot come to the capitol, please call your delegates.  The toll free number is:  1877-565-3447.

All the streams that DEP originally proposed have sound scientific data to support the designations and all should be on the list.

If you care about Clean Water you should come to the capitol tomorrow if you can - we realize this is a really short notice, however we just learned of this today!
