Marcellus Tour 2015 – Sunday, October 11
See Marcellus Gas Up Close And Personal
The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly (well, 2 out of 3 ain’t bad)We will visit areas in Wetzel County where some of West Virginia’s most intense gas drilling and development have been going on for several years. Our first destination is the Lewis Wetzel WMA, where we take a lesson on how not to do things and what can go wrong and what goes unfixed for years. And yes, WMA means Wildlife Management Area – and gas development is apparently someone’s idea of wildlife management.

From Lewis Wetzel, we drive to Mobley, “Birthplace of Pipelines.” serving the huge Mark West processing complex there. Mobley is also a place where famiiy homes have active wells and pads virtually in their backyard, where noise and disruption are everyday experiences, roads are clogged, and more.

Our tour leader is Bill Hughes, who has been heavily involved in the Marcellus and is highly knowledgeable about all things gas.

We meet in Morgantown at 9:00am, then rendezvous at our final meeting point. Details provided when you RSVP. 4-wheel drive vehicles needed. We expect to wrap the tour up 3-4:00pm. Bring lunch, snacks, water, and dress for the weather.

Join us for the tour. RSVP to Jim at jimscon@gmail.com, 304.698.9628.
